Sergio Mantecón of the Scott Cala Bandida Team won the Desafío Dama Roja in Cantabria on Sunday 11 September. In this way, the Valencian rider has been proclaimed national MTB champion in the Marathon speciality.
The race consisted of a 65-kilometre route with an accumulated positive difference in altitude of 2,500 metres. Mantecón led for most of the race and, in the decisive part, managed to leave Bou, his closest rival at the time, behind, who finally finished in second place.
